Training

The Central Training Institute (CTI) was established by the KDDC ( Karnataka Dairy Development Corporation) which is now known as Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) in the year 1985 1st of January as a centre in order to enhance the knowledge and skills concerned to the activities, functioning & maintenance of MPCS and Animal Health Practices by training the staff and the members of the Dairy Co-operative Societies (DCS) or Milk Producers Co-operative Societies (MPCS) of all the unions and the field level staff (Extension Officers) of the unions.

BRIEF PROFILE OF PROGRAMMES

The programs undertaken can be broadly classified into three areas:-

  • Training programs at MPCS level
  • Procurement and Input
  • Human Resource Development

Training programs at MPCS level

The Training programs for staffs of MPCS are as follows:

  • Management Committee members training
  • Secretary
  • Dairy Animal Management
  • Clean Milk Production
  • First Aid
  • Artificial Insemination also includes Cluster Artificial Insemination
  • BMC & AMCU

And the members are trained in Animal health practice and care which also covers Clean Milk Production at root level.

Procurement & Input

The Extension Officers of the Unions are trained for the supervision of MPCS includes MPCS accounts maintenance, conduct of periodical review meetings, testing the quality of Milk, Animal health practice and care, Clean Milk Production and best Management Practice for a profitable running of the societies.

Human Resource Development

Trainings for the employees and officers of different Departments of unions. Training Programmes are taken up in key areas such as Finance, Marketing, Production and Operations Management, General Management Programmes , Technical Programmes specific to the Dairy Such as Maintenance of Plant & Machinery/ Refrigeration, Energy Conservation, Quality Control, Food Safety standards, recent advances in the field of animal health and nutrition etc.,
Regarding this, all the three Training Institute have a well-stocked library and fully equipped with other training related facilities and Computer Lab. Regular guest lectures from experts and need based workshops are also being regularly organized.

With the formation of the KMF on the lines of the ANAND pattern all the districts covered under 14 Milk Unions in the state came under the preview of the programs. Since, training at the grass-root level being a must for the success of the organization. Central Training Institute branches are opened as Regional Training Institutes at Mysore and Dharwad. Hence training for the 14 unions DCS staff and members are distributed among all the three training centers. The Central Training Institute covers Bengaluru, Kolar and Tumkur Milk unions. Mysore training Institute covers Mysore, Chamarajanagara, Mandya, Hassan and Dhaksina Kannada Milk Unions and Dharwad Training Institute covers Dharwad, Gulbarga, Belgaum, Bellary, Bijapur and Shimoga Milk unions.

FACILITIES

Conference Hall

The institute have two spacious Conference Halls. Each can accommodate 50 candidates. The Hall is equipped with facilities of Audio –visual aids and overhead projector.

Accommodation

The institute has a good Hostel facility.

Canteen

A fully equipped canteen functions exclusively for the purpose of the trainees residing at the hostel.

Transport Facility

The institute has a bus for transportation of the Trainees for visits to Institutions for exposure and Training.

Scope for extending facilities to other Organizations and Government Departments

The experience and the expertise developed over the years has given us the impetus to go a step further to extend the facilities available at the institute and hostel to other organizations, Government Departments and Banks who may want to undertake In-house training programmes for their employees/officers and to conduct official Meetings.
